About Nordic RCC

NORDIC REGIONAL COORDINATION CENTER

The Nordic Regional Coordination Center (RCC) is bridging the Nordic power systems to enable the green energy transition.

Nordic RCC is based in Copenhagen and is one of six RCCs across Europe. We are owned by the four electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in the Nordic region: Energinet, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät and Fingrid.

About Nordic RCC

We support the national TSOs in maintaining the operational security of the power systems across Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

An RCC does many of the same advanced calculations that happen in the TSO control rooms like capacity calculation and security analysis but on a regional level. The regional analyses ensure increased coordination and effectiveness.

Ongoing analysis of data from the four power systems and close coordination of activities improve the security in the operation of the Nordic power systems. Regional generation adequacy information and coordinated capacity calculation as well as outage planning improve the overall efficiency of the systems and thus further conditions in the Nordic power markets.

The power systems in Europe are becoming increasingly integrated and are going through massive changes to meet climate goals. We provide critical Nordic and European services and insights to the TSOs and embodies the strong Nordic cooperation needed to maintain reliable power supply and the operational security of the power systems across Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark - now and in the future.
